What to Do With a Destructive Dog Behavior

Dealing with a destructive dog behavior such as chewing on furniture or tearing up clothes can be very frustrating and owners cannot be blamed if there are times when the thought of giving up the dog enters their minds.
A destructive dog behavior does not only affect a dog owner emotionally but financially as well.
Of course, you cannot expect the dog to replace or to pay for everything that he has destroyed.
So everything that he has eaten up or has torn apart is already considered as a loss.
There are dog owners who have lost hundreds of dollars worth of properties because of a dog that keeps destroying things.
Clearly, something must be done immediately if your dog has the tendency to destroy stuff inside and outside your house.
Seeing the movie or reading the novel Marley and Me, one would have the impression that having a dog with a destructive behavior is a light problem that can easily be brushed off.
But if you're able to talk to a dog owner dealing with a destructive dog behavior then you will realize that the problem is anything but light.
Certainly, it is not an easy thing to see some of your favorite things being turn into pieces by your dog.
The situation is of course made more complicated by the fact that most dog owners love their dogs and that they cannot bear the thought to be separated from them no matter how bad their behaviors are.
If you are dealing with a destructive dog behavior then you have to know that there is no need for you to let go of your dog because there are things that you can do to solve the problem.
First of all, you need to know where the destructive behavior is coming from.
It could come from a traumatic experience or from separation anxiety.
One of the things that you can do to help your dog ease up on his destructive behavior is to help him become relaxed.
A destructive dog is often agitated and angry and they need to be calmed down.
